藏書票同時推廣三本與區塊鏈社會議題相關的書籍：《憤怒與希望》、《區塊鏈社會學》、《以太奇襲》。三本書以失能與治理為經、經濟與民主為緯，共同編織出一部更為立體的區塊鏈思辨簡史。

“Fool or prophet? Shackles or blockchain? Autonomous or involuntary? Flowers at the cliff’s edge, or lemmings leaping into the abyss?”

As cryptocurrency and NFT sales hit record highs — creators, collectors, investors, and arbitrageurs all swept up in the frenzy — and as portfolios grew ever larger, the underlying mechanics and social context of blockchain were being left behind by mainstream media. The market euphoria obscured a deeper question: do we truly understand what blockchain is changing?

NFTs as a Medium for Reading

To restore blockchain’s social value and promote foundational knowledge, Yin Bookstore, an independent bookshop in Taichung, experimented with NFTs as a medium for action. They issued THE FOOL, a digital bookplate referencing card zero of the Major Arcana in tarot — the Fool, that fearless traveler standing at the cliff’s edge, stepping forward without hesitation.

The bookplate also promotes three books on blockchain and society: Networks of Outrage and Hope, Blockchain Sociology, and Ether: The Surprise Attack. Using dysfunction and governance as the warp, and economics and democracy as the weft, the three books together weave a richer, more dimensional critical history of blockchain.

Prophet or fool, courageous or conformist, decentralized or re-centralized — only time will tell.
